Claude Max, ChatGPT Pro or Google AI Ultra: which AI plan do you actually need?
The short answer
It depends on the work. For coding I'd use Claude (Opus 5.5); for short ads under a minute, Google AI Ultra, where a 1-minute ad is about 96 Flow credits, about $0.77 before retakes; and if you've never used an agent, skip the $20 tier and take the $200 plan, which right now means Claude Max 20x.
I pay for all three top plans ($624 a month), and on Oct 17 Claude was the only one I was running out of: 78% of the week used with 66% of the week gone, against 9% on ChatGPT (Codex) and 1% on Gemini in Antigravity.

- Find your own meter: Claude under Settings → Usage (or /usage in Claude Code), ChatGPT on the Codex usage dashboard (or /status in the Codex CLI), Google in the Gemini app under Settings → Usage limits (or /usage in the Antigravity CLI).
- Read it as end of week, not right now: % used ÷ % of the week gone. My Google plan on October 16 was 8% used with 48% of the week gone, so about 17% by the end of the week.
- Keep the plan you run out of and downgrade the one that ends the week far under its limit. On Claude Max and Google AI Ultra the $100 tier has 1/4 of the $200 tier's quota, so finishing under about 20% on $200 means $100 still fits.
- On ChatGPT Pro, OpenAI doesn't publish the Pro $100 vs Pro $200 ratio, and eligible older Pro 200 subscribers keep the previous allowance only through October 29, 2026, so check your number again after that date.

0:00 It seems like everyone's really confused with what kind of subscription they need. I have used all of the most popular AI subscriptions, from AI images, videos, LLM and everything.
0:13 My take is, if you're doing a lot of coding jobs, you already know what to use. This is more for people who are sort of confused and trying to get into AI right now.
0:24 If you're doing commercials, like short commercials, I would say use Gemini Ultra Pro. Although Flow credits are not that great, you can actually get a lot of the AI-generated videos by using Flow credits plus the Google Vids. If you make less than a minute of commercial ads, usually that's going to be less than a dollar to create one.
0:45 You can also do some kind of automation behind the scenes to not fiddle with the Flow UI. I honestly think there should be an MCP to use the subscription instead of people manually clicking and typing. Come on, it's agents era. Most of the UI work, I never type it unless it's a password or something important. I just ask Astra or Claude Code to do it for me.
1:11 Usually when you want to make really high-quality, realistic, or even very action-oriented videos, you can't do it with Gemini Omni as of now. You have to use Seedance 2.5, or I think there's Kling 4.0, dropped yesterday or today. Those kind of things are expensive. You have to at least put $100 to $1,000 to make 1-minute video.
1:35 I'm not sure if you need Higgsfield. A lot of people are using Higgsfield, but I honestly haven't used Higgsfield. But I have used Stable Diffusion and ComfyUI from way back, three years ago. I'm pretty sure a lot of the tools are already there. It's just the model subscription, subsidized subscription, that you need. I see some other companies, like startups, giving you 50% off, 80% off sometimes, for promotion price. Get that, and then use that to make whatever ads that you want.
2:07 If you're just doing coding, I would say use Claude, Opus 5.5. GPT Astra: it's good, but it's just slow. I just use it to tweak UIs with that.
2:17 Like OpenAI, I can't even use it fast enough to burn all the tokens. If I use Astra really fast, then it will not respond at some point, and then I have to use Sol 6.1. That's not good. Google AI credits: I had 25,000 credits, and I wanted to go faster. I wanted to make things parallel, and then the UI will not respond. The amount of money you paid and then what they promised does not really…
2:45 My suggestion is, if you're starting out: I see a lot of people haven't used agents yet. All they did was using those free-tier chatbots one by one. I would suggest, buy the $200 subscription. Right now it's Claude, but sooner or later it might change. We don't know.
