Claude Max vs ChatGPT Pro vs Google AI Ultra: how much of each $200 plan do I actually use?
The short answer
It changes from week to week. On Oct 20, early in the week, Codex had used 30% of its weekly limit with 7.9% of the week gone, Claude 9% with 8.9% gone, and Gemini in Antigravity 62% with 45.8% gone.
On Oct 17 it was the other way around: Claude was the plan I was running out of (78% with about 66% of the week gone) and Codex sat at 9%. So I read all three meters every week, keep the plan I run out of, and only downgrade one that keeps ending its weeks far under the limit.
My meters
Read on my own accounts by a script on my PC. On pace for = % used ÷ share of the week gone, so it is rough early in a week. The Google row is the Antigravity meter only; the Gemini app and Flow have their own limits.
| When (KST) | Plan | Weekly limit used | Week gone | On pace for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2026-10-20 11:55 | Claude Max 20x ($200) | 9% | 8.9% | too early to tell |
| 2026-10-20 11:52 | ChatGPT Pro ($200), Codex | 30% | 7.9% | too early to tell |
| 2026-10-20 11:56 | Google AI Ultra, Gemini in Antigravity | 62% | 45.8% | ≈135% (runs out early) |
| 2026-10-17 11:28 | Claude Max 20x ($200) | 78% | 66% | ≈118% (runs out early) |
| 2026-10-17 01:29 | ChatGPT Pro ($200), Codex | 9% | 20% | ≈45% |
| 2026-10-17 11:33 | Google AI Ultra, Gemini in Antigravity | 1% | new week | too early to tell |

| Plan | Price | Limits | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Claude Max 5x | $100 a month | 5x the Pro plan's usage per 5-hour session, plus weekly limits. Chat and Claude Code share one pool. | support.claude.com |
| Claude Max 20x | $200 a month | 20x the Pro plan's usage per 5-hour session, plus weekly limits. Anthropic doesn't publish a weekly ratio between the two Max tiers. | claude.com/pricing |
| ChatGPT Pro | $100, $200 or $500 a month | Codex on Pro has no five-hour limit; weekly limits may apply. OpenAI publishes no ratio between Pro 100 and Pro 200. New Pro 200 subscriptions get a lower usage allowance than previously offered; eligible older subscribers keep the old one through October 29, 2026. | help.openai.com |
| Google AI Ultra | $99.99 or $199.99 a month (US) | 5x or 20x the Google AI Pro limits, so the $100 tier gets 1/4 of the $200 tier's. Limits refresh every 5 hours up to a weekly limit. | gemini.google |
Read your own meter
- Claude: claude.ai → Settings → Usage, or
/usagein Claude Code. - ChatGPT / Codex: the Codex usage dashboard, or
/statusin the Codex CLI. - Google: Gemini app → Settings → Usage limits, or
/usagein the Antigravity CLI. Flow credits are counted separately. - Read it as end of week, not right now: % used ÷ % of the week gone. My Google plan once showed 8% used with 48% of the week gone: about 17% by the end of the week.
The rule I use
- Keep the plan you run out of. Downgrade the plan that ends the week far under its limit.
- Google AI Ultra's $100 tier gets 1/4 of the $200 tier's limits, and Claude Max is 5x vs 20x per 5-hour session. If you finish weeks under about 20% on the $200 tier, the $100 tier probably fits; watch the 5-hour bar too.
- ChatGPT Pro: OpenAI doesn't publish how much more Pro 200 gives than Pro 100, so test before you switch.
- Look at several weeks, not one. My own heaviest plan flipped between Oct 17 and Oct 20, depending on what my agents were working on.
