Can an AI twin replace you on camera?

Video · 1:38 · Oct 17, 2026 · Jamin Kim · Watch on YouTube

The short answer

Not for me, not yet. I made a Google Flow avatar from one phone selfie, my agents cut the script into 76 clips and generated 159 takes, Google blocked all 3 browsers they used for "unusual activity", and the 7-minute episode it made was boring.

The flat voice came from a line in my own prompt, "in a calm, direct, slightly dry tone", so now I film on my phone and my agents do everything else.

Try it on your own computer

  • Film yourself on your phone and let your agents do the rest. The twin took 159 takes; the real me took 6 minutes on a phone.
  • If you try an AI avatar anyway, read the tone words in your own prompt first. Mine said "in a calm, direct, slightly dry tone", and the voice came out flat.
  • Don't push Flow generation fast from a script. When my agents sent 5 clips in 30 seconds, Google showed "unusual activity" and stopped them; use it slowly.
  • Watch your video as a viewer before you post it. If you can tell it's AI, other people can tell, and they scroll to the next one.

0:00 [AI twin] I pay for all three of the big ones, about $600 a month.

0:05 That's the part that I'm so pissed about. I already paid 200-something dollars, and what I get is total…

0:14 I have three subscriptions: Claude, GPT, and Gemini, all about $200. Gemini Ultra is a little bit more expensive. I bought this to get Flow credits to make videos of me, sort of like a digital twin, and it sucks. It sucks so bad.

0:32 [AI twin] The model isn't the edge anymore. The setup is.

0:41 For Flow credits, you can't automate it. You have to use it slowly. If you go faster, it will just stop you on the UI, "unusual activity", and it won't let you use it.

0:52 [AI twin] If it can be measured, measure it. Use AI judges only for what can't.

0:57 I watched it. It was boring, and it turned out that I told it to be.

1:02 One thing that people don't notice is my eye is already trained on the AI images. Yeah, I can tell. If I can tell, that means other people can tell it's AI. Once people understand their eyes are trained on what is AI and what's not, if you put it on social media, they will just immediately scroll to the next one. That's the problem. We want attention and automation together, but those things are hard to do.

1:31 So now I film, and my agents do everything else.
